David A. Daigneault
Lifetime Achievement Award

The David A. Daigneault Lifetime Achievement Award is presented by the Virginia Law Enforcement Accreditation Coalition (VALEAC) to honor individuals whose lives reflect exceptional service, leadership, and integrity in law enforcement and beyond. This prestigious award is named in memory of Rev. David A. Daigneault, a deeply respected law enforcement professional, ordained minister, and lifelong public servant.

Chief Daigneault began his law enforcement career in 1975 with the Williamsburg Police Department and rose through the ranks at James City County, ultimately serving as Chief of Police from 2000 to 2005. Even after retirement, he continued to serve his community as Accreditation Manager for another 15 years. In addition to his public safety career, he was also an ordained minister with The Wesleyan Church, dedicating his time to mission work in places like Guatemala, Cambodia, and post-Katrina Louisiana.

Dave Daigneault embodied the highest standards of ethics, humility, mentorship, and service, qualities that this award seeks to recognize in its recipients. The award celebrates individuals who demonstrate a lasting commitment to the values of accreditation, community impact, and professional excellence.

Nominations will be accepted through July 1st on the nomination form and should highlight the nominee’s contributions that align with the legacy of Rev. Daigneault. Self-nominations are not accepted. The honoree will be recognized at VALEAC conference.
